Donate online.

Your gifts sustain grassroots nonviolent action for social justice across the country and around the world. Donate online through our secure site here, or send a check, payable to the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute, to 217 Centre St. #339, New York, NY 10013-3624. (If your bank is outside the U.S., online donations are preferred so that more of your gift can be used to promote nonviolence.)

Designate a bequest.

Bequests are a simple, highly effective way to leave a lasting legacy. Extend your commitment to peace and justice into the future by designating the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute in your will. Share this sentence with your attorney or financial planner: "I bequeath $_____or ____% of my estate to the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute, Inc., 55 Exchange Pl Ste 405, New York, NY 10005."

Donate stock.

Stock and mutual fund gifts to the Muste Institute are always welcome. If you are holding stocks or mutual funds thathave appreciated in value, there may be tax advantages to donating them.If you choose to donate stock, mutual funds, or retirement account distributions, please contact us with your gift details so we can promptly acknowledge your generosity.

Make a gift from your IRA.

If you are at least 70 1/2 years old, you may be able to directly transfer tax-free distributions of up to $100,000 per year from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to qualified charitable organizations such as the Muste Institute, without having to count the transfers as income for federal income tax purposes. Contact your IRA administrator or financial planner for details.

Direct your gift.

You can set up an endowment, create a special fund or direct your gift toward a particular purpose or issue area that coincides with our mission to support the nonviolent movement for social justice. If you intend your gift to benefit one of our sponsored projects, be sure to let us know.
