Organizing Grants

The Next Organizing Grants Application Deadline is 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on April 21, 2025 (for June decisions).

Organizing Grants are only avalable to organizations and projects that are based in the United States.

The maximum grant award is $10,000. Most grant awards will be around $5000. Occasionally we will consider requests for multiple-year funding.

What We Fund

  • WE DO FUND newly-founded and existing organizations that are engaged in activist organizing. We prefer groups that don’t have much foundation funding or other traditional streams of income.

  • WE DO FUND 501c3s, groups with a 501c3 fiscal sponsor, and organizations with a bank account in the thier name.

  • WE DO FUND projects as well as general operating costs. We’re looking for creative and bold ideas that have a specific goal.

  • WE DO FUND projects and organizations dedicated to fighting for systemic change, rather than personal/individual support.
     

What We Do Not Fund

  • WE DON’T FUND individuals, or individual projects.

  • WE DON’T FUND direct services, healing or therapy work, or mutual aid that's not a component of organizing.

  • WE DON’T FUND projects or organizations with operating budgets exceeding $250,000. 

  • WE DON’T FUND lobbying or political campaigns.

  • WE DON’T FUND art, films, or dance projects that aren’t a component of organizing.

  • WE DON’T FUND tuition or scholarships.

  • WE DON’T FUND university supported projects.
